The Connecticut Yankee Group at Morgan Stanley

Advice Built Around Your Life
I believe meaningful financial advice begins with understanding what matters most to you — your family, your goals, your values, and the future you are working to build.

As a Financial Advisor with The Connecticut Yankee Group at Morgan Stanley, I work with individuals and families to bring clarity, structure, and confidence to important financial decisions. My focus is on helping clients create thoughtful, comprehensive plans that evolve with their lives, their priorities, and changing market conditions.

A Planning-First Approach
Every client's situation is different. That is why I begin by listening — learning about your family, your financial picture, your concerns, and the opportunities ahead.
From there, I help clients evaluate and coordinate key areas of their financial lives, including:

  • Investment strategy
  • Retirement planning
  • Estate planning strategies
  • Multigenerational wealth planning
  • Risk management
  • Lending and liquidity needs
  • Philanthropic goals
  • Tax-aware planning considerations

The goal is to help you make informed decisions with purpose — not only for today, but for the years and generations ahead.

A Multigenerational Perspective
In 2019, I joined forces with my father, Allan Jay, to create a multigenerational advisory team grounded in shared values, long-term relationships, and personal service.
Together, our team brings clients a balance of seasoned experience and forward-looking planning. We understand that wealth often carries both opportunity and responsibility — and we work closely with families to help preserve what they have built, prepare for what comes next, and guide wealth with intention.

Backed by Morgan Stanley
Our clients benefit from the personal attention of a dedicated team, along with access to the broad resources of Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley describes its Financial Advisors as helping clients develop personalized plans around goals such as retirement, tax efficiency, generational wealth, and philanthropy. For families navigating complexity, this combination of high-touch advice and institutional resources can be especially valuable.

Let's Begin with a Conversation
Choosing a financial advisor is ultimately about trust, fit, and confidence in the relationship.
If you are looking for thoughtful guidance, a disciplined planning process, and a team committed to long-term continuity, I welcome the opportunity to learn more about what matters most to you — and how we may be able to help.

Where Trust Is Earned

Click > to view more photos of our Stamford office.

New relationships always begin with an exploratory meeting to see if there’s compatibility. We take pride in having 4th generation clients as it exemplifies the trust we have built not only with an individual, but with a family. In many ways, we become part of the family and that is what brings us the most joy in our career.
Individuality
Our objective starts with knowing the individual. What are their ambitions? What do they value? What are their preferences? Where are they in life's journey? By way of understanding who they are, we can begin to identify what makes their strategy unique. (This discovery process is explained further in the ‘Process’ tab)
Stability
Financial Advisors may move from one firm to the next seeking better opportunities. In the slideshow above, there's a framed picture of Allan’s business cards. This serves as a reminder to our clients that the only change he’s made was to EF Hutton in 1980 (which through a series of mergers, eventually became Morgan Stanley). Notice the phone number has never changed.
Both Allan and I are happy and healthy in our routines. We have no plans to leave Morgan Stanley or to ever stop working.
Communication
When you want to speak with us, you’ll get us. Both Allan and I, along with our supporting team members, are extremely responsive to incoming requests. More so, our proactive approach sets us apart from other teams. Whether it is fixed income coming to maturity, planning updates, performance evaluations, important newsworthy events, market narratives, firm-wide promotions, or just to say hello; we genuinely like connecting with our people.
Resourcefulness
I believe we are ultimately chosen as custodians because of our ability to match the needs of our clients to the resources of our global institution. An established company like Morgan Stanley will have access to a greater selection of opportunities than a smaller firm with less resources to leverage. We find this scope and scale is a helpful advantage for our clients.
(For more information, please visit the ‘Morgan Stanley’ tab).
Simplification
Allan and I have educated and equipped ourselves to serve all the financial needs of those who trust our advice. We aim to provide simplification through consolidation and only if it is in the client’s best interest. Financial stewardship comes with vast responsibility. As an experienced team of ethical human beings, it’s our duty to serve others in this way.
We are honored by this trust.

Your Path to Financial Clarity and Confidence

Financial planning is more than just numbers—it's about understanding your life, your goals, and helping build a strategy that can grow with you. Our process is designed to uncover what matters most, provide thoughtful guidance, and help empower you to make confident decisions through every life stage. With a clear structure and personalized attention, we help you turn complexity into clarity and planning into progress. Here's what you can expect from our six-step financial planning journey:
    Icon Image
Step 1: Getting to Know You
We begin with a conversation focused entirely on you. In this first step, we explore your values, lifestyle, and long-term goals to understand what financial success means in your world. Whether you're thinking about retirement, building generational wealth, or navigating a career transition, we take the time to understand your priorities and concerns. This relationship-driven approach lays the foundation for a meaningful and lasting relationship based on trust, transparency, and shared purpose.
    Icon Image
Step 2: Discovery and Data Gathering
Once we've established your goals, we gather the details needed to build a full picture of your financial life. This includes reviewing income, assets, liabilities, investment accounts, insurance coverage, benefits, and estate planning documents. Just as important, we explore the context behind the numbers—such as family dynamics, lifestyle preferences, and legacy intentions. We also assess your comfort with financial risk to guide investment and planning decisions. This comprehensive discovery phase helps ensure we develop a strategy that fits your life, not just your balance sheet.
    Icon Image
Step 3: Comprehensive Analysis and Evaluation
With the data in hand, we conduct a detailed analysis using advanced tools and professional insight. We evaluate your current financial structure in relation to your goals, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. We model various "what-if" scenarios—like market shifts, income changes, or major life events—and stress-test your plan in an effort to ensure it can adapt under pressure. If needed, we collaborate with outside professionals such as tax advisors or estate attorneys. This step provides the strategic clarity needed to potentially move forward with confidence.
    Icon Image
Step 4: Plan Presentation and Recommendations
Next, we present your personalized financial plan, built to reflect your goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon. We walk you through every key element—investments, cash flow, retirement projections, tax-efficient investment strategy, estate planning strategies, and more—explaining not just what we recommend, but why. We answer three essential questions: What should you do? Why is it the right move? And what will it cost to implement? This collaborative session ensures that you understand your options, feel confident in the strategy, and are fully engaged in the decisions ahead.
    Icon Image
    Step 5: Implementation and Action
With your approval, we bring the plan to life. This step involves taking clear, coordinated actions—adjusting investments, updating insurance coverage, helping to optimize savings strategies, and implementing tax-advantaged solutions. We handle the logistics and timing while keeping you informed every step of the way. If necessary, we coordinate with your other advisors to help ensure everything aligns seamlessly. Our goal is to make the process efficient, smooth, and focused on real progress toward your financial objectives.
    Icon Image
Step 6: Ongoing Monitoring and Support
Financial planning doesn't stop at implementation—it evolves with your life. We provide continuous monitoring to help keep your plan on track, along with regular reviews to adjust for life changes, market conditions, or new opportunities. Whether you're changing careers, receiving an inheritance, or planning for a new goal, we proactively adapt your strategy to stay aligned with what matters most. Through consistent communication, timely insights, and personalized support, we stay connected to your financial world and committed to your long-term success.

Experiencing the Morgan Stanley Difference

When I first joined Morgan Stanley, I quickly came to appreciate the depth and scale of the firm’s platform. What stood out to me was not simply the breadth of resources, but the way those resources could be thoughtfully applied to help clients make more informed decisions.

Morgan Stanley offers access to a global network of investment insight, planning capabilities, lending resources, cash management solutions, estate planning strategies, philanthropic guidance, insurance solutions, and sustainable investing tools. For clients, that means our relationship can extend well beyond investment management.

My role is to help make those capabilities accessible, understandable, and relevant to your life.

Whether you are preparing for retirement, managing wealth across generations, evaluating a lending need, selling a business, supporting family members, or thinking about your legacy, our team can help coordinate the right resources at the right time.

Below are several areas where Morgan Stanley’s platform can help enhance the advice and service we provide.
    Icon Image
    Investment Insight and Market Perspective
Our clients benefit from the intellectual capital of Morgan Stanley, including perspectives from the firm’s Global Investment Committee and broader network of analysts, strategists, and investment professionals. Morgan Stanley describes its Global Investment Committee as the group responsible for shaping Wealth Management’s asset allocation guidance for clients.

We use these insights to help inform our investment outlook, evaluate market conditions, and guide client conversations with clarity and discipline.

For clients who want to stay current, we can share timely commentary, market updates, research, reports, and educational resources as part of our ongoing service.

    What this means for you:
You do not have to navigate complex markets alone. Our goal is to help you understand what is happening, why it matters, and how it may affect your plan.
    Icon Image
Investment Manager Research and Due Diligence
Selecting investment managers requires more than reviewing recent performance. It calls for a disciplined process, thoughtful analysis, and ongoing oversight.

Through Morgan Stanley, we have access to investment manager research and due diligence resources designed to help evaluate managers across asset classes, strategies, performance history, risk controls, fees, and consistency of process.

    What this means for you:
We can help identify investment solutions that align with your objectives, risk tolerance, time horizon, and broader financial plan — while continuing to monitor whether those solutions remain appropriate over time.
    Icon Image
    Cash Management
Managing cash is an important part of managing wealth.

Morgan Stanley’s CashPlus offering is designed as a modern cash management solution that allows eligible clients to manage day-to-day cash needs alongside their investments, with features such as 24/7 service access, online and mobile capabilities, bill pay, debit card access, mobile check deposit, Zelle®, and unlimited ATM fee rebates worldwide.

    What this means for you:
By coordinating cash management with your broader investment relationship, we can help simplify the way you access liquidity, manage spending, and maintain visibility across your financial life.
    Icon Image
    Lending and Liquidity Strategies
Thoughtful borrowing can be an important part of a comprehensive wealth plan.

Through Morgan Stanley lending solutions, eligible clients may be able to access financing for real estate, business needs, taxes, estate planning, or other significant expenses. Morgan Stanley notes that securities-based lending may provide access to liquidity while helping clients keep their longer-term investment strategy intact, though borrowing against securities involves risks and is not appropriate for everyone.

Working with our local Private Banker, we can help evaluate options such as:

    Residential mortgages
    Home lending solutions
    Liquidity Access Lines
    Tailored Lending
Other customized credit strategies, where appropriate
    What this means for you:
We look at both sides of your balance sheet — assets and liabilities — to help determine whether a lending strategy may support your goals without unnecessarily disrupting your investment plan.
    Icon Image
    Estate Planning Strategies
Estate planning is about more than transferring assets. It is about protecting the people, causes, and priorities that matter most.

While we do not draft legal documents, we can work alongside your estate attorney, accountant, and other trusted advisors to help you think through important planning considerations, including asset titling, beneficiary designations, liquidity needs, family governance, charitable intentions, and wealth transfer goals.

    What this means for you:
We help bring organization and coordination to the estate planning conversation, so your financial strategy reflects the legacy you want to create.
    Icon Image
    Charitable Giving
For many families, wealth is not only about what they accumulate, but also about the impact they hope to make.

Morgan Stanley can help clients explore charitable giving strategies, including donor-advised funds, which may provide a flexible and tax-efficient way to support charitable organizations over time. These strategies may be especially useful when funded with appreciated securities, depending on a client’s circumstances.

    What this means for you:
We can help you align your giving with your values, evaluate the timing and structure of charitable gifts, and incorporate philanthropy into your broader financial plan.
    Icon Image
    Insurance and Risk Management
A strong financial plan should also consider what could disrupt it.

Morgan Stanley offers access to insurance solutions, including life insurance, long-term care insurance, and disability income insurance, designed to help clients manage risk and protect against uncertainty. Through Morgan Stanley’s digital insurance capabilities, advisors can help assess insurance needs, review potential solutions, and educate clients on available options.

    What this means for you:
We help identify potential gaps in protection and evaluate whether insurance may play a role in preserving your family’s financial security.
    Icon Image
    Investing with Impact
Some clients want their investments to reflect not only their financial goals, but also their values.

Morgan Stanley Impact Quotient®, launched in July 2019, is a sustainable investing analytics and reporting application designed to help Wealth Management clients better understand how their portfolios align with social and environmental objectives.

    What this means for you:
If sustainable or impact investing is important to you, we can help evaluate how those priorities may be incorporated into your investment strategy while remaining focused on your long-term financial objectives.
    Bringing It All Together
The true value of Morgan Stanley’s platform is not any single feature. It is the ability to bring many capabilities together in a coordinated way around your life, your family, and your goals.

Our team helps clients understand what resources are available, when they may be relevant, and how they can be integrated into a thoughtful financial plan.

For prospective clients, the first step is simple: a conversation.

We welcome the opportunity to learn more about what matters most to you and to explore how our team — supported by the resources of Morgan Stanley — may be able to help you plan with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
