My Story and Services

Brian J. Bubnis is a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Reading, Pennsylvania, and he brings a rare depth of perspective to the work because he has spent more than five decades in the financial services industry. Over that time, he has helped clients and families navigate changing markets, shifting interest-rate environments, and the real-life transitions that drive financial decisions. Many of his client relationships have been built over years and, in some cases, generations, with an emphasis on consistency, responsiveness, and a plan that is designed to hold up when markets get unpredictable and volatile.

Brian began his career at Hornblower & Weeks, then Kidder, Peabody & Co., and has been part of Smith Barney Morgan Stanley since 1993. His background across multiple major firms and market eras informs a practical, risk-aware approach that prioritizes preparation and disciplined decision-making.

His work centers on building customized investment strategies aligned to each client’s goals, time horizon, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance. He constructs custom portfolios and may incorporate additional investment strategies as part of a broader investment plan.

Brian is also committed to the community he serves. He is listed on the Berks Arts Executive Board as Vice President of Programs for the Annual Jazz Fest in Reading, PA that has been held for over 35 years.

Before entering the financial industry, Brian developed the competitive discipline and team-first mindset that still influences his professional approach today. He played football at the University of Pittsburgh and is listed among Pitt football lettermen. He later played one year for the Pottstown Firebirds in the Atlantic Coast Football League. In March of 2011 he was inducted into the Ed Romance Chapter PA Sports Hall of Fame for football and track.

Brian is the proud father of three daughters and values planning with a multi-generational lens, helping clients connect today’s financial decisions to the people and priorities those decisions are meant to support.

    5) Help you put decisions into motion

If you choose to proceed, we help carry out the agreed steps, such as account actions, transfers, investment positioning, and key account and beneficiary reviews, as appropriate. If you work with a CPA or attorney, we can collaborate to support consistent execution.

7An investment in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor’s ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information about the ETF. To obtain a prospectus, contact your Financial Advisor or visit the ETF company’s website. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.

9Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
