Insights Grounded in Experience

Blair Short is a Certified Investment Management Analyst, Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist, and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC). Blair received his degree in Finance from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He has been married to his wife, Joy, for 29 years. Their oldest son works for Morgan Stanley in Atlanta, their middle son is a project engineer for Joeris in San Antonio, and their youngest son attends and plays football for Cornell University.

After interning for his father, who was a financial advisor for over 30 years, Blair could see the huge impact he had on his clients and knew he wanted to help others achieve their financial goals too. Blair started his financial services career in 1996 as a loan officer at Merrill Lynch. This gave him a solid foundation of the mortgage industry and allowed him to have a better understanding of his clients' financial needs and provide them with comprehensive advice when he transitioned to becoming a financial advisor.

Blair became a financial advisor because he wanted to help clients gain a clearer understanding of their financial situation and guide them in making informed decisions. His goal is to be their financial quarterback, coordinating all aspects of their finances to help ensure they’re on track to meet their goals. He is deeply committed to helping his clients achieve their financial objectives and takes pride in providing the guidance and support they need to succeed. Blair feels so fortunate that he has been able to build strong, meaningful relationships with his clients and their families. Watching them thrive financially and knowing that he has played a role in their success has been incredibly gratifying for Blair.

Throughout his career, Blair has been named to Forbes "Best-in-State Wealth Advisors" list in 2021-2025. Blair has also been named to Barron's "America's Top Private Wealth Advisory Teams" list in 2024.

Outside of work, he enjoys hiking with his wife and dogs, and he cherishes the vacations he takes with the whole family. One of his favorite pastimes is watching his son play football at Cornell, and he is also an avid Cleveland sports fan. Blair is committed to being a part of his community. He has had the privilege of sitting on various boards over the years, including scholarship funds, planning giving committees for hospitals, family charitable foundations, and booster clubs for both high school and college football programs. These experiences have allowed him to give back to his community and deepen his understanding of charitable giving, all while helping organizations make a meaningful impact.

Built for Family

No two families are the same. Unique family dynamics result in distinct sets of financial needs and challenges. Often, those needs and challenges can shift as a family continues to grow.

A Multigenerational Perspective
As a sole practitioner, I bring a multigenerational perspective to wealth management—shaped not only by my own experiences but by years of working closely with clients across multiple generations. This approach allows me to offer both continuity of care over time and a strong ability to connect with clients at every life stage. Whether I'm working with you directly or helping your adult children or grandchildren navigate their financial futures, I aim to provide guidance that resonates with their values, priorities, and perspectives.

A Lifelong Commitment to Families
Many of the families I serve span generations—and I consider it a privilege to be a steady presence through so many life milestones and challenges. Whether it's navigating a sudden loss, managing a health emergency, or making tough decisions around long-term care, I strive to be a trusted resource—offering objective advice, empathetic support, and financial clarity when it matters most.

Personalized, Boutique Service with World-Class Resources
Though I operate independently, I have access to the world-class tools, research, and investment solutions of Morgan Stanley. This allows me to deliver a highly personalized, boutique-level service while leveraging the power of a global financial institution.

That means I can help you:

  • Optimize your corporate equity package in a tax-efficient way.
  • Align your charitable giving with your personal impact goals.
  • Navigate market uncertainty with non-market-correlated strategies.
  • Maintain perspective and focus through periods of volatility.

My practice is built on trust, responsiveness, and deep, personal commitment. I return your calls. I respond to your emails. I make myself available when you need me—because that's what it means to truly serve as your long-term financial partner.

Trust. Empathy. Commitment. These aren't just values—they're the foundation of the relationships I build with every client and every generation they care about. Through all of life's transitions, I'm here to help you stay on course and in control of your financial future.

Our Process

My role, as your dedicated Financial Advisor, is to tailor a personalized financial strategy designed to fit whatever needs you may have. In my experience working with clients, I have developed a step-by-step approach to service:
