My Story and Services

For me, retirement planning means more than providing my clients with investment advice. It means helping them maintain the financial independence they’ve worked their whole lives to achieve. It means striving to help ensure they have the means to pursue what’s most important to them. And it means understanding them as people with unique goals, values and circumstances that determine the strategies I develop on their behalf.

My consultative process begins with an in-depth discussion of your current finances and future objectives. We’ll address issues you might have overlooked that can have a significant impact on your ability to retire as planned. Finally, we’ll determine how we can help you adjust your investment strategy as necessary to accommodate changing conditions and meet any unforeseen expenses and income demands that may arise during retirement.

About Beth Colón

As the granddaughter of a commodities trader and a trust officer, Beth grew up surrounded by the ‘market’. Numbers seemed to run in her blood and she joined the financial services industry in 2002. With close to 20 years’ experience in the business herself, she guides her clients through comprehensive wealth planning, including investment and risk management, retirement income planning and philanthropy.

As a Certified Financial Planner® and Divorce Financial Analyst™, Beth works with many clients in transition. Whether that be the sale of a business, the decision to retire or the loss of a spouse due to death or divorce, she enjoys working alongside her clients to create a plan so that they are able to feel the comfort of financial independence or what she likes to call a ‘work-optional’ lifestyle.

Beth has served on the board of many local non-profits including: LongueVue House and Gardens, The Arts Council of New Orleans and The Women’s Professional Council.

An avid triathlete, she spends her early morning hours training for her next race. She then asks herself why she tortures herself so when she competes in these races, yet the pain seems to fade quickly and she always finds herself signing up for yet another one. Beth resides in New Orleans, Louisiana, with her husband Jimmie, a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist, and her three children; Carmen, Elodie and Isaac.

6Investing in the market entails the risk of market volatility. The value of all types of investments may increase or decrease over varying time periods. The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable or impact investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability and impact criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
