My Story

Anthony is often told he has a gift for explaining complex subjects in layman’s terms. While perhaps it’s because the teaching experience and presentation skills he developed as a graduate student, it is almost certainly because he cares deeply about his clients and helping them understand the forces that influence not only the global markets, but their financial lives.

For more than 40 years (30 with Morgan Stanley), Anthony has provided clients with advice and guidance that has helped them weather financial crises as diverse as market crashes, dot.com debacles and economic recessions. He understands it’s not easy to remain steadfast and calm in the face of chaos or stick to a plan when all around you are appearing to abandon theirs. But that’s what he does. And it’s a task made easier when the plan you are following is created with your goals, needs and risk tolerance firmly in mind.

As a Morgan Stanley-credentialed Portfolio Management Director, Anthony manages assets on a discretionary basis, thereby relieving you of day-to-day investment decisions you would rather not make on your own. And although he spends most of his time focusing on Wealth Management and Retirement Planning - as a Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor, he also offers access to extensive resources and qualified professionals who can help you pursue goals far beyond earning acceptable investment returns.

Some financial goals can be anticipated; others can sneak up on you. But the good news is: the earlier you begin to plan for them the better your chances for success. I strive to provide my clients with a goals-based financial plan that shows them where they are in relation to their financial and retirement goals and whether or not they can expect to achieve them. If it appears they can’t, I help them understand what’s possible and how to go about maximizing that possibility.
Divorce is seldom easy. Still, certain steps you can take now may make the process less stressful and help simplify your life. As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor, I can help you understand the issues on which your future financial security might depend. The more you know about your legal and financial options, the better equipped you will be to protect your interests. Remember, though, that a competent attorney is essential. A knowledgeable CDFA® and Financial Advisor can help you deal with the intricacies of planning, both for short-term realities and long term possibilities.

Working With You

Like many Financial Advisors, I began my career advising clients on a transactional basis. Eventually however I learned my they would be better served if I used my experience and knowledge to manage their assets in a more comprehensive and efficient way.

As a Morgan Stanley-credentialed Senior Portfolio Manager, I manage client portfolios on a fee-based, discretionary basis. My clients depend on me to make day-to-day investment decisions they have neither the time nor desire to make. It also means they are not charged commissions for individual transactions. Rather, they pay an annual fee that is a percentage of the assets they place under management.

The proprietary portfolios I’ve developed focus on growth and income. They are equity-based and may contain stocks of companies with various market capitalizations. I look for companies that I believe are poised to outpace the market in terms of earnings, price/earnings ratio and dividend growth. Dividends represent not only an important source of income for retirement-oriented investors, but a sign of corporate health.

Of course, before I make any investments on your behalf, I will confer with you to determine your objectives, timeframe and risk tolerance. Your portfolio will be managed to reflect your unique circumstances, as well as my perceptions of the market environment.

Experience

Throughout my financial services career of more than 35 years, I have come to realize that successful investors make the fewest mistakes. I am committed to helping my clients do exactly that.

As a Morgan Stanley-credentialed Senior Portfolio Manager, I manage assets in a fiduciary capacity on a discretionary basis. My clients depend on me to make investment decisions on their behalf. I strive to generate the highest return possible with the lowest amount of risk.

As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), I help clients prepare for an emotionally turbulent life event by increasing their understanding of what they have, and help them evaluate whether or not proposed settlements will provide enough to maintain an acceptable lifestyle.

In my Charterer Retirement Planning Counselors role (CRPC®), I strive to provide goals-based plans for clients that show them where they are in relation to their retirement goals and whether they can expect to retire on time and as anticipated.

I began my career as an Account Executive with Merrill Lynch and later joined a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm. I spent several years in Management but returned to advising when I realized I instead preferred working with clients. Many of my client relationships span three generations.

I grew up in upstate New York and graduated from Canisius College with a BA in Biochemistry. I also earned an MA from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University and an MBA in Finance from The University of San Francisco. Outside the office, I’m a supporter of The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and have served on that organization’s New York Metro board for more than 20 years.

My interests are eclectic and run from art and music to boxing and sailing. I even ran the New York City Marathon in 2003. A resident of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, I love spending time with my three grown children and continue trying to help them avoid mistakes, too.
