Welcome

Born in 1972 in Santa Clara, CA while my parents were getting their PhD's at Stanford, my family relocated back to the Washington DC area in 1974 and we have lived here since. I attended Walt Whitman HS in Bethesda, MD, graduating in 1990, and attended Penn State University, where I played ice hockey and was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity. I am a Semester at Sea alum of the spring 1993 voyage through the University of Pittsburgh and graduated Penn State in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Smeal College of Business.

Right after college I was an assistant buyer for The May Company's buying for all the Hecht's stores in the area prior to starting my career with Smith Barney in 1995. In 2009, Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley merged forming one of the largest and greatest financial institutions in the world.

I have 3 children, Gavin (2005), Colin (2008) and Ashlyn (2011), and Kelley and I live in Oak Hill, VA.

Security Licenses include: Series 7, 63, 65, 31, Life, Health and Annuities and my financial planning specialist designation.

Meet My Team

About Michael Macintyre

I was born in New York City and spent my childhood in Reston, VA. There, my interest in finance found an early expression when I helped found the first student run bank at my secondary school. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Finance at George Mason University before joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 1999.

As your Financial Advisor, my mission is to make your wealth work as hard as it can. I take a holistic approach by understanding what goals are most important to you and crafting an integrated financial plan to help you achieve those goals and live the life you envision for yourself and your family. Being part of the Alexandria Group at Morgan Stanley allows me to work with a variety of experienced financial professionals with diverse skill sets and knowledge that helps us, together, provide truly comprehensive financial solutions for our clients.

Outside of work, I serve on the board of the Council for the Arts of Herndon, play squash, and golf. I enjoy travelling, and have been fortunate to travel extensively both domestically and internationally. My home is in Haymarket, Virginia, where I reside with my wife of six years, Amy, our daughter, Madison, and our three cats, Blackjack, Lady, and Blossom.

About Danny Riley

I grew up in Alexandria, VA and graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in finance. I have been in the financial services industry ever since graduation starting as a Financial Advising Specialist at Ameriprise Financial before moving over to Morgan Stanley in 2019.

Over the last two years working at Morgan Stanley as a Wealth Advisor Associate I have helped clients develop comprehensive financial plans. My role as a Financial Advisor with The Alexandria Group is to help families define their financial goals, plan tax-efficient strategies that are optimal for those goals, and help them to implement these strategies to meet the objectives we have set in place. I know over time my clients’ goals and situations may grow and change, and I want to be there to help guide them through these changes and help to implement new strategies to meet their new objectives.

In my spare time I like to travel for golf, hiking, and snowboarding.
