Working With You

As the financial world becomes more complex and investment choices multiply, careful planning becomes ever more important to helping you achieve your financial goals.  My role is to work with you to help you develop a plan that lays out a clear path to your goals -- a plan that I develop in collaboration with you and one that you can follow with confidence in the face of the market's ups and downs.

Together, we will explore a broad range of topics that are likely to influence your financial future … from your family situation to your career aspirations, from likely education expenses to the retirement you ultimately envision.  What I learn will become the foundation for a financial and investment strategy based on who you are and where you want to go.  Only then will I talk with you about the details of investing:  how much risk makes sense, your asset allocation, and which investments are right for your portfolio.

But that's just the beginning.  Over time, I will revise your plan to reflect new aspirations and priorities, helping your plan keep pace as the markets change and your life unfolds.

My Clients

Change is a constant of life.  Successful families face unique opportunities and challenges during many of these transitions:

Job Change
Starting a new business
Sale of a business
Marriage
Birth of children/grandchildren
Divorce
Retirement
Caregiver
Death of a loved one
Generational wealth transfer/gifting

I strive to keep your big picture in focus while helping you navigate life's transitions with confidence.

About Me

I grew up in north central Nebraska in the small town of O'Neill.  My parents as well as my brother and his family still reside there.  After graduating from O'Neill High School, I went on to achieve my undergraduate degree at Wayne State College.  While at WSC, I played 4 years on the Women's Basketball Team and was later inducted into the Wayne State Athletic Hall of Fame.  After undergraduate school, I began working in the insurance industry and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and obtained a Master's in Business Administration with an emphasis in Portfolio Management.  Following graduate school, I began my career at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2006.

My husband, Mike, and I have been married since 2003.  Mike is from Wichita Kansas and is a graduate of Wichita State University.  We met in Omaha while playing on a basketball team together.  We are a very active couple and enjoy sports, outdoor adventures and travel.  In 2013, our family grew with the adoption of our newborn son, Zachary.  As a family, we love to go boating, hiking, biking, snow skiing and anything else we find adventurous.

We are members of Stonebridge Christian Church and support the local Food Bank, CASA for Douglas County, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Nebraska Interscholastic Cycling League.

6Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
