My Story

There are literally thousands of Financial Advisors to whom you can turn for advice and guidance. What makes me different?

For one thing, it’s my commitment to providing my clients with solutions to their financial issues that are not always readily apparent. For another, I take the time to understand who my clients are as people, not just investors, and I’m not afraid to tell them what they don’t always want to hear. Finally, I am supported by the extensive resources of one of the world’s most respected financial services firms – resources that can make a major impact in your ability to create coordinated, workable strategies in an increasingly complex financial environment.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®), I offer my clients tailored advice that’s backed by rigorous training and professional experience. My objective is to deliver an outstanding client experience focused on sophisticated, smart investment strategies and comprehensive planning services that encompass virtually every aspect of your financial life.  Retirement planning, estate planning, tax planning, risk management, lending strategies – these are but a few of the issues I can help you address with meaningful advice that’s carefully conceived and given with the realization that your future financial security may depend on it.

I bring over 20 years of experience to the service of my clients and during that time, I’ve established numerous client relationships that are noted for their depth and mutual respect. That’s the accomplishment of which I’m most proud…and the goal I continue to pursue in my day-to-day practice.

Our Clients

Client relationships include corporate executives, skilled physicians, prominent business owners and accomplished professionals who seek unbiased, personalized advice. Some seek to maintain their lifestyle once they retire. Others are concerned about leaving a meaningful legacy to their children without excessive taxation or family conflict. Still others simply wish to simply feel more confident that they are on the right path to wherever it is they hope to arrive someday.

Corporate Executives generally maintain portfolios that consist largely of their employer stock. They know they should diversify to reduce risk, but they don’t want to appear disloyal and are wary of tax consequences. In addition, they often own stock options that are subject to rules of which they may only be vaguely aware. I help them manage risk, make informed decisions and integrate their equity compensation and other corporate benefits into their overall wealth management plan.

Physicians are typically so occupied with their work that they simply don’t have the time or inclination to focus on investments and other financial issues. My goal is to be able to relieve their concerns and increase their likelihood of achieving whatever is most important to them without infringing on their time spent treating patients.

My conversations with all these clients are candid and forthright. I want to find out who they are, what they value, what they hope to accomplish and where they are financially, so I can develop a strategy to help them succeed.  I strive to be the person my clients seek whenever they have a financial decision or issue. Just because that issue may seem daunting doesn’t mean it can’t be addressed successfully by developing and implementing a strong, customized plan.
As my career progressed, I realized that if I wanted to provide my clients with advice that would make a difference in their financial lives, I would have to focus on far more than their investments. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), I employ a goals-based approach that incorporates the following steps:
Identifying Aspirations
What do you really want for yourself and your family? Can you articulate what you want your retirement to look like, for example, and when you would like it to begin?
Quantifying Cost
How much will your desired goals actually cost? How much income will you have to generate to achieve your retirement dreams? What will college for your kids cost when they’re ready to go? I work closely with you to develop realistic cost estimates for the goals most important to you
Assessing Resources
How much have you saved for retirement and other objectives? How much income will you be able to generate from your assets and what other sources of income and assets might be available to you in the future? Social Security? A pension? An inheritance? I’ll help you quantify the resources from which you're hoping to fund your goal and determine whether you're on track to reaching it.
Evaluating Readiness
Is there a gap or a surplus between your expected resources and the goals to which you aspire? If there’s a gap, how you fill it? Spend less? Save more? Reposition your investments?
In addition to my CFP designation, I’m a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) with years of experience applying advanced investment knowledge to confidently navigate even the most complex situations. My investment philosophy emphasizes a tax-efficient sector-based approach, while taking full advantage of Morgan Stanley’s thought leadership and extensive resources.

8Alternative Investments are speculative and include a high degree of risk. An investor could lose all or a substantial amount of his/her investment. Alternative investments are appropriate only for qualified, long-term investors who are willing to forgo liquidity and put capital at risk for an indefinite period of time.

9Structured Investments are complex and not appropriate for all investors. An investment in structured investments involves risks. These risks can include but are not limited to: fluctuations in the price, level or yield of underlying asset(s), interest rates, currency values and credit quality, substantial loss of principal, limits on participation in appreciation of underlying asset(s), limited liquidity, credit risk, and/or conflicts of interest. Many structured investments do not pay interest or guarantee a return above principal at maturity. Investors should read the security’s offering documentation prior to making an investment decision.

10Investing in the market entails the risk of market volatility. The value of all types of investments may increase or decrease over varying time periods. The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable or impact investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability and impact criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
