Alex Mann, CFP® grew up in New York City and spent his high school years in Vero Beach, FL. He studied Economics at the University of Virginia completing his education in 1996. While at UVA he interned with Salomon Smith Barney and was offered a position with the firm shortly after graduating. Salomon Smith Barney would later become Morgan Stanley.

During each of his three years in the firm’s Financial Advisor Associate program he earned the Blue Chip Award for Excellence in Client Service. In 2006, he underwent extensive training to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. The rigorous certification process included completing an 8 month comprehensive course of study and passing a two-day 10 hour CFP® Certification examination. In addition he must abide by a strict ethical code of professional conduct and complete continuing education requirements in order to maintain the prestigious designation.

As a CFP® practitioner he focuses on portfolio management, financial, retirement income planning, liability management, insurance, and college savings strategies. He works with clients not only on accumulating wealth, but also preserving wealth and managing risk.

Alex lives in Springfield, VA with his wife, Stacey, and two sons. In his free time he enjoys reading, playing guitar and spending time with his family. He also enjoys helping his wife with her foundation, Promises for Parkinson’s, and supports children’s cancer charities to honor his younger son’s successful battle with Leukemia

As a CFP® practitioner I focus on portfolio management, financial and estate planning strategies, retirement income planning, liability management, insurance, and college savings strategies. I work with clients not only on accumulating wealth, but also preserving wealth and managing risk.

I begin by helping clients determine their financial goals and concerns, risk tolerance and time horizon. Utilizing the tremendous resources of Morgan Stanley, we then work together to create a comprehensive financial plan and customized investment strategy designed to meet their specific goals. I follow a disciplined wealth management process that emphasizes long term customized planning solutions, investor education, constant communication, and ongoing reviews.

I strive to build long term relationships with clients and their families based on integrity, putting their interests first and providing objective advice. My team and I are committed to providing first rate service by being available to respond quickly and efficiently should any question or concern arise. I strongly believe that by combining the resources of Morgan Stanley with our wealth management process, we can significantly improve clients’ probability of success.
