About Gregory Vaughan
Greg Vaughan is the founder and Managing Director of The 545 Group, a multi-generational team of 15 investment professionals within Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management division. Located in Silicon Valley for over 40 years, Greg and his team have focused exclusively on the financial needs of highly accomplished entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, private foundations, and privately controlled corporations.
Greg and his team have garnered national recognition as one of the top wealth management practices in the country for their ability to provide exceptional service and investment performance for their clients. Recent accolades include:
• Barron’s America's Top 100 Financial Advisors #1 (2011-2015, 2009, 2022); #2 (2016-2020, 2023); #3 (2024)
• Barron's Top 1,200 Financial Advisors by State #1 (2018 - 2023); #2 (2024)
• Forbes America's Top Wealth Advisors (2017 – 2021)
• Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors #2 (2020 - 2022), #3 (2019)
• Barron’s Advisor Hall of Fame
• Barron's America's Top 100 Private Wealth Management Teams
Through a process of understanding a client’s many complex financial needs, Greg and his partners take great pride in clearly explaining every aspect of their process and hold transparency and liquidity as key tenets of their investing philosophy. While their client base represents individuals with diverse backgrounds and wealth creation stories, there tends to be one common thread: clients have made significant wealth primarily from liquidity events in the capital markets and leverage their expertise and global resources to maintain and prudently grow significant wealth.
Originally from San Francisco, Greg graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Business and Finance and joined Dean Witter Reynolds upon graduation and moved to Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management division shortly thereafter.
Within the community, Greg serves as a Trustee of Santa Clara University where his responsibilities include Chairman of University’s investment committee for the University’s Endowments. In addition, he currently serves as a Board Advisor at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, as well as a board member for the Mid-Peninsula Boys and Girls Club. Greg is a Board Member for the Olympic Club Foundation.
