Our Story and Services
Based in San Francisco and New York, our team works closely with a select global clientele of affluent Asian families and their family offices. Our clients have built successful enterprises in the United States, Hong Kong, China and/or Taiwan, and now face complex wealth planning challenges across generations as well as borders. They have entrusted us with crafting wealth planning solutions to protect and grow their assets, create a legacy, and pursue the objectives they have established for themselves, their families and their businesses.
Our clients' needs are constantly evolving and require new perspectives, expansive investment platforms and connectivity to specialized wealth management and institutional capabilities. Leveraging the expertise and platforms of both Morgan Stanley's Private Wealth Management and International Wealth Management, we bring powerful resources to the table. Combined with our own experience, these capabilities enable us to create and deliver solutions to help our clients pursue their personal and professional objectives on a global basis, manage risk, and offer a broader spectrum of global investment opportunities across traditional and alternative asset classes.
Why the 168 Team?
In traditional Chinese culture and numerology, the number "168" phonetically resembles "一路发" (Mandarin: yī lù fā; Cantonese: yāt louh faat), which denotes "prosperity forever." We chose the name because it reflects our commitment to helping our clients lead lives of good fortune, prosperity, health and happiness, now and for many generations to come.

International Wealth Management is a specialized area within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management that is dedicated to serving individuals, families, family offices, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and corporate stock plan managers who live outside the United States. We also serve US citizens living and working abroad as well as those who are relocating to the United States or otherwise changing domicile.We are based in offices throughout the United States, but often specialize in a specific country or region, and typically speak the client’s language, understand the culture and have a deep knowledge of the markets we serve. Combining our investment knowledge with the resources and intellectual capital of Morgan Stanley, we deliver targeted solutions that help our clients pursue their goals and address their unique financial needs.

About Hosea Lee
Hosea began his professional career at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Hong Kong in 2014, where he partnered with senior bankers to provide tailored solutions to ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices and private foundations in Asia. Three years later, he was selected to become a founding member of J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Global Families Group Asia Team in San Francisco. He moved his practice to Morgan Stanley in 2025.
Hosea graduated from the University of Hong Kong with first class honors with a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Global Management (IBGM). During his bachelor’s studies, he spent a year abroad at Yale University to engage in liberal arts education. While a student, he also held internships at McKinsey and Company, UBS and the China Construction Bank in China and Hong Kong.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Hosea is a native Cantonese speaker and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
About Karen Wing Yung Chau
Karen started her professional career in the Global Banking Department of Hang Seng Bank, where she provided banking solutions to multinational blue-chip corporations. She then joined a boutique investment bank in Hong Kong, assisting companies with initial public offerings (IPOs) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. In 2018, Karen joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Global Families Group Asia Team in New York, where she offered customized cross-border investment solutions to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and foundations. She transitioned her practice to Morgan Stanley in 2025.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) in Finance from Hong Kong Baptist University, with a minor in Government and International Studies. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she is a native Cantonese speaker and is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
About Henry Chi
Henry earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Binghamton University – The State University of New York, establishing a strong analytical foundation for his career in finance. He began his professional career as a staff accountant at a real estate company. Two years later, he transitioned to the wealth management industry, becoming a Client Service Associate at Taurus Financial. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Henry served as an investment professional at J.P. Morgan, where he contributed to the development and implementation of goals-based wealth management solutions for a global clientele of ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Henry is a native Cantonese speaker and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
